My head is heavy, my feet are sore, Living in my concrete lair. Trains thunder past, cars speed away, People scurry on their way.
Oh how I long to leave this place, And settle where there’s fields of green. Trees serene and air to breathe, Tinkling streams and birds to sing.
To watch the seasons come and go, Gossamer lace and dewdrop bold. Buzzing bees and new mown grass, The pristine white of snowy fields.
Rise to birdsong and retire at dusk, Listen to the magic sounds. Tooting owls and barking fox, Unseen animals gathering food.
A home that is so worn and gnarled, Nestled in amongst the trees. Garden bright with carefree flowers, A door so sturdy, old and strong.
Tiny visitors shy and timid, Fox and badgers, squirrels too. But best of all my fairy glen, Where little people dance and sing.
Balls and parties throughout the year, Celebrating natures ways. Summer balls and snow filled antics, Nut gathering festivals, so full of fun.
Oh how I long to tread the path, Where those long gone still dwell in peace. And gain the space |I crave so much, To free my spirit to nature’s tune.
So much to learn, so much to give, So little time to take it in. Please free this spirit and let it dwell, Amongst you all my trusted friends.
