This last week have proved to be very productive and have managed to finish another chapter of Dizzy Izzy and begin the next one. I was struggling to come up with a title for this new chapter but inspiration comes from unusual sources as I was sat in the motor home during a massive thunder storm and gained so much inspiration from it that I decided to include it in the next chapter and call it just 'The Thunder Storm'. You see this writing occupation can be quite simple if you just let your mind wander and go where it takes you. I have had great fun helping Izzy to identify the deer that live in the forest so she knows who is who. We still have 2 more females to give birth too so that will allow my imagination the opportunity to soar yet again

I have managed to add a little more to Dizzy Izzy when I have a few minutes to spare every day so the story is progressing but slowly. I just need 5 days uninterrupted writing and will have wrapped it up but at the moment I struggle to string 5 minutes together. The way things are looking I might end up with 2 books published within a couple of months as I have to get 'Scruffy and Maisie' ready for sale for Christmas as I already have a number of people who have put orders in for Christmas presents! No pressure there.

I have done very well this week getting more work done on Dizzy Izzy. I have typed up some of what I had written and am now at 26,300 words. I accompanied my husband and father-in-law on a fishing trip to a local reservoir and was very inspired and found myself writing about when Izzy met and talked to a family of female deer and their babies. I continue to surprise myself where this story leads me but I am enjoying the journey enormously.

Although I have been away at C & W festivals over the last 2 weeks so haven't had the time to post on here I haven't been completely lazy and have managed to write loads of Dizzy Izzy. She continues to surprise me what she gets up to definitely not what I planned but it just seems to flow from my pen. I have managed to type up some of it and have hit 25,000 words already so looking good for quite a number of books in this series too as we haven't managed a full week in her new life yet! Considering we need to cover at least 6 months maybe a year I think we are likely to manage about 5 books in this series. Watch this space for more information but think our new revised launch date is likely to be sometime in Aug probably early August so that I can then use August to do book signings and promotional tours before completing the next Scruffy book ready for Christmas

I have just done another book signing today at the visitor center at Sutton Bank for North York Moors National Park. Although it was not as successful as my last book signing I think it may have been because I was situated in the shop not the foyer as before. Despite this we have set up another date for 3rd Sept when I will have both Dizzy Izzy and Scruffy for sale as by then Dizzy Izzy will have been launched

I haven't managed much more writing this week as family life got in the way but I have promised myself a completely full day tomorrow so should be able to move it along a good distance. I need to as I have several people waiting impatiently for it to be available to buy. I got back on the promotional trail this week and delivered the requested copies to Pickering but then investigated a number of further leads. I visited the local log cabins in the area that Scruffy was situated in and was pleased to be offered the chance to possibly have them stocked at other Forestry holiday places in the area. The local pub/brewery took delivery of copies and another pub at Rosedale offered to sell them too. The local tea rooms/post office took delivery and were so sure they would sell quickly that they paid up front! A visit to Hutton Le Hole was another possible outlet and I am awaiting communication from the Ryedale Folk Museum to inform me if they will stock them and allow me to do a book signing. I will be doing another book signing at North York Moors National Park Visitor Center at Sutton Bank next Sunday too.

I picked up a photograph on Facebook that got my creative juices flowing which will be about a timid dog who goes to live in the city. At the moment I am not sure what he will be called but I think he looks like a Laddie. I have instructed the foster parents that I want pictures to choose from to put on the front cover and that whoever adopts him needs to be happy for him to become a celebrity! At the moment I hope to get his first book published in early 2018 before the second book of Dizzy Izzy hits the shops middle of the year and the 3rd book of Scruffy (not sure at the moment what that might be called) ready for Christmas. Plenty for me to get working on

There has not been many developments this week apart from I chased up some of my outlets where Scruffy is being sold to find out 1 shop had sold out of all their 26 copies so needed more, another site was down to their last copy so another 6 needed there this week and the last site I managed to contact is down to their last 2 copies so I am awaiting the owner contacting me to tell me if she wants more taking ready for the new season as the shop is in a real tourist hot spot. Another outlet suggested a new place to try that I wasn't aware they had a shop and cafe now as that is a development since I left the area so coupled with another 2 suggestions I think a full day trip back into the Cropton/Rosedale area is on the cards soon. I will be taking Scruffy up into the Cumbria area to try and get him into some bookshops before Easter too so we are back on the promotional trail. A new doggy picture came up on Facebook tonight that has set ideas flying around my brain which I need to capture and get some notes down on paper. It will be quite a while before that 1 hits the shops but I will keep you posted and as yet have no idea what it might be called
